What Should You Expect as a New Patient?

At Family Healthcare Chiropractic Center our examinations and procedures are geared toward detection and correction of the "Vertebral Subluxation" (click on this link for more information on subluxations).  There are a couple of things that you should expect when you have a first visit at our clinic.

Patient Forms

Upon entering the office, our receptionist will greet you and request that you complete our new patient forms.  To decrease your wait time, you can print these forms from our website and bring them with you.  This paperwork provides us with general information about yourself and your condition.

Consultation

Once the paperwork has been completed, you will have a consultation with Dr. Genovese to discuss your health related problems, concerns, as well as potential treatment options.

Spinal X-Rays

Spinal x-rays may be taken depending on your age and situation. X-rays are a common part of the examination process when looking for vertebral subluxations.  X-rays give us important information including the position of the spinal bones, and the quality of the spine and safety of adjusting it.  Dr. Genovese will evaluate the films before deciding if it is safe to adjust you.

Home Instructions

Prior to leaving, patients will be given instructions on certain activities or procedures to be conducated at home.  This may include ice or heat application instructions, avoidance of certain activities or positions, as well as home exercises and/or stretches.

Scheduling Your Next Appointments

Before you leave, our staff will schedule your next visit, typically within a day or two.  At your follow up visit, Dr. Genovese will go over your x-rays in detail and explain the various care plans available to obtain the best possible results. It is at this visit, after Dr. Genovese has evaluated all of your information, that you will be adjusted if it is safe to do so.
